Can you explain the difference between a ‘follow’ and a ‘nofollow’ backlink?

‘Follow’ backlinks, also known as do-follow backlinks, are the standard type of links that count towards the PageRank of the page being linked to. They tell search engines to follow the link and pass on the link equity or “link juice” to the linked page. This can help improve the linked page’s ranking in search engine results.
‘Nofollow’ backlinks include a special HTML tag (rel="nofollow") that tells search engines not to follow the link and not to pass on any link equity. These were introduced to combat spam and are typically used when linking to untrusted content or in sponsored links and advertisements. While ‘nofollow’ links do not directly influence the PageRank of the linked page, they can still bring in traffic and may have indirect SEO benefits.
